Jack Johnson
Jack Johnson along with Dave Harner and the rest of the Swea City Betterment Club have been instrumental in the development of pedal pulls in Iowa. Jack became involved with pedal pull in the early 1980's and was involved with the creation of the Iowa State Pedal Pull Association in 1990. Jack is currently the secretary-treasurer of the Iowa State Pedal Pull Association and has watched the sport grow from only 12 sanctioned pulls in their first year to over 180 sanctioned pulls in 2010. In the same time period the number of competitors at state sanctioned pulls has grown from around 120 to over 14000 kids in 2010. Jack takes care of allot of the unseen work including taking care of all of the State signup sheets for each of the qualifying children. Jack also takes care of T-Shirts for the Iowa State Pedal Pull Championship and helps at the National Pedal Pull every year.
Jack Johnson is hereby inducted into the Iowa Pedal Pull Hall of Fame this September 11th, 2010
